1. Jeans are not for the office
Wrong! Jeans can most certainly be worn to the office. Women’s jeans can look very pulled together. Do you want to wear jeans to the office but still look polished? First off - make sure your jeans fit you well, that in itself will bring an outfit together. Next, consider the wash and finish. You might want to keep the really destructed (like holes in the knees) jeans for off-hours, but, please know that raw hems are totally acceptable. For a polished jean look, I recommend thinking about stepped up styling details, accessories and outfit pairings. Tuck in your tops. Add a belt. Next, think about what you’re putting on to complete the look. Blazers, jackets and shackets really pull a work appropriate jean based look together. Last- footwear plays a big part of ampyfying a jean outfit for the workplace. If you are having a casual day, yes, grab those printed sneakers. If you are wanting to look more dressed up - slip into your pumps or polished booties. Last tip, you can roll your pant hem and look polished. Try one fold up for a modern look.
2. Suits are only for the boardroom.
Wrong again! Womens suits are on trend. You can do so much with a suit. Break it apart for maximum use. Most important, suits can be worn any day to work. You don’t have to save them for boardroom presentations- how often do those even happen? I get that we all want maximum value and versatility out of the clothing we invest in. A suit can make a strong, modern, yet classic impression or play into the current retro trend. Either way, you’re sure to take in the compliments when you don a suit.
Think of pairing blazers with alternative bottoms like jeans, faux leather / vegan leather pants or a skirt. Or, go for the full matching suit ( jacket, skirt or pants) but make it on trend with modern details. Tuck in your pretty blouse to accentuate your shape. Choose a cozy sweater for a modern look; or go for a crisp white shirt - classic yet really stylish. Statement shoe choices can also bring a matching suit from mediocre to fantastic. Look for trending styles like lug sole loafers, block heel booties, or a fun pattern pump.
WHAT'S ON TREND FOR WORKWEAR
Next up, let’s talk about what’s on trend that would look really great on you for work. Some of my favourite outfits for work today are:
• A dress. It’s as easy as that! (And don't we all love an easy outfit.)Dresses look great all year long. For cold weather, don’t be afraid to wear a dress to work. Grab boots or tights and pumps. Step up your dress look by adding a topper. You can wear a blazer with your dress, or try a shacket in faux leather / vegan leather for a polished yet trendy look. If you need a more cozy feel, pair a long sweater as a topper to your dress.
• A skirt. Skirts are really trending- I’m just loving skirt looks right now! Cleo has some fantastic midi skirts that pair so nicely with collared shirts or a cozy knit sweater. Get out those tall boots or booties and you’ve got yourself a really stylish new look. I guarantee, you’ll be wearing this look on repeat.
• Wide leg or trouser pants. Yes - this awesome silhouette is back! A wide leg or trouser style pant or jean is such a wonderful addition to your wardrobe. This leg shape is very powerful and shouts confidence. You’ll definitely want to reach for a more fitted top or jacket with this pant silouhette to show off your shape. EASY OUTFIT OF THE DAY

1. Leggings + White Tunic Shirt + Vest
This formula easily translates based on whatever kind of leggings you have. Basic black or trendy faux leather / vegan leather or vegan suede. A relaxed tunic white shirt is a must and you can’t go wrong this season with a sweater vest. Trust me, this outfit works every single time, no matter where you are headed. Bonus - it’s really comfy!
2. Straight Leg Pant + Cozy Knit Sweater + Shacket
Everyone has a pair of straight or slim leg dress pants. It’s a work wardrobe staple. Pair it with a cozy knit sweater (I recommend a cable knit stitch style). Add a shacket over top - solid faux leather / vegan leather or plaid. Finish the look with a cool loafer or sleek pump. Voila! You’ve got yourself a fabulous workwear look.
3. Jeans + T-shirt + Blazer
My favourite easy look is right here - it's truly as easy as one , two, three. I guarantee you have all these pieces in your closet. First, pick your favourite jeans. Second, pull on your favourite t-shirt, then tuck it in (all the way or french tuck at the front). Now, add a belt. Third, top it off with a blazer or jacket. Just like that, you’re good to go, in comfort and style, to work, for coffee, on a date…whatever it is, you’ve got this!
